Eesha's skincare is formulated with ingredients that consider our body and the environment. We use plant extracts, nut oils and essential oils.

Our ingredients are biodegradable and
 Palm free.

It is always important to be mindful of what is in your
skincare products.

We have some handy tips for those that may suffer from allergies
or sensitive skin conditions.

Allergies / Skin sensitivity

Allergies are quite common which is why it is important to really look at ingredient lists and to observe what is put into our bodies and our exposure to external environments.

There is a growing list of ingredients Eesha will not use in skincare products including synthetic fragrances. Many chemicals can be used to create fragrances and some of these are not safe.

These are some common skincare ingredients that are often linked with skin allergies and skin sensitivity:

  • Benzene / Formaldehyde forming preservatives

  • DMDM hydantoin

  • Imidazolidinyl urea

  • Methylchloroisothiazolinone

  • Phenoxyethanol

  • Quaternium-15

  • Synthetic fragrances (can contain up to 100-3,500 or more ingredients)

  • AHA (Over 10%)

  • Retin-A creams and serums - in some people it can cause contact dermatitis

  • P-phenylenediamine - in hair dyes

  • Ammonium persulfate - in hair dyes (to lighten hair)

  • Gluten

  • Methacrylate (fingernail glue)

  • Alcohol - SD alcohol, Denatured alcohol, Isopropyl alcohol

  • Sulfates - Sodium Lauryl sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) - in shampoos, conditioners, detergents, personal care, household products (long term exposure in sensitive skin can cause inflammation and irritation).

  • Methylisothiazolinone - preservatives found in wipes, make-up removing wipes, shampoos, conditioners, moisturisers, body washes, deodorants - this may cause contact dermatitis. If you have sensitive skin be mindful of this ingredient.

Here are some handy tips for those that may suffer from sensitive skin, dry skin and/or any other skin related issues.

Allergy Test

Before using a product, it is important to do a "skin patch test" for allergy or sensitivity where applicable.

1. Apply a small amount of product to your elbow or wrist

2. Cover with bandage/plaster and wait for 24 hours

3. If no reaction occurs it may be safe to use

If unsure please repeat step 1 and 2 for up to 7 days.

Do not use product if skin rash or irritation occurs. Wash area with soap and water.

Nuts, and Nut Oils

At Eesha our products use naturally derived plant and nut based oils.

But, do be mindful if you have a nut allergy or are allergic to certain plants or essential oils.

Children and Pets

Where possible it is always better for children to use fragrance free products with less ingredients. Always check to see if ingredients are safe to use.

It is a good practice to keep products away from children and pets when they are not in use.

Caution (Nursing, Pregnant or pre-existing condition)

What we put into our skin is important. Some products can be absorbed into our body and it can even affect medications.

If you are nursing, pregnant, or have any pre-existing condition or are on medication it is always advisable to check with your physician or doctor before using any product.

If you feel any irritation or reaction, discontinue use immediately and wash area with soap and water.

Product Disclaimer

It is important as a consumer to know that in New Zealand it is illegal to make a therapeutic claim about how a product or ingredient works - unless it has been clinically proven (scientifically).

Lastly, it is very important to be mindful of what you use on your skin and please always read your label.
